Role Overview:
The Senior Manager Industrial Relations / Employee Relations will be responsible for managing end-to-end IR/ER activities at the plant or unit level. The role focuses on ensuring harmonious employee relations, statutory compliance, grievance management, and effective engagement of blue-collar workforce.
Key Responsibilities / KRAs:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws including Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, and other applicable statutes.
- Handle grievance management and disciplinary proceedings effectively.
- Lead blue-collar manpower planning, hiring, and deployment.
- Drive employee engagement and training initiatives for blue-collar workforce.
- Maintain cordial relations with unions, works committees, and external stakeholders.
- Handle liaisoning with labor authorities, inspectors, and local administration.
- Prepare and manage IR-related MIS, reports, and documentation.
- Support wage negotiations, settlements, and dispute resolution processes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate IR risks impacting operations.
Required Skills & Expertise:

- Strong hands-on experience in employee relations and industrial relations.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments, preferably automobile OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in grievance handling and disciplinary management.
- Strong experience in blue-collar recruitment, training, and engagement.
- Excellent liaisoning and networking skills with external agencies and authorities.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with maturity and discretion.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
