Lead - Procurement - FMCG

Role Overview:

As Lead - Procurement, you will own the economic intelligence and cost structure of the business - from forecasting and budgeting to raw-material strategy, CAPEX decisions, and supplier ecosystems. Your mandate is to ensure every procurement decision strengthens margins, continuity, and scale-readiness.

You will operate at the intersection of data, market insight, and negotiation power - building procurement as a strategic weapon, not a support function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own procurement-led forecast planning in line with sales, launches, and seasonality.
• Translate demand forecasts into raw material and packaging procurement plans.
• Anticipate demand spikes and prevent stock-outs or over-buying.
• Build and own annual procurement budgets across ingredients, packaging, and indirects.
• Track budget vs actuals and drive cost discipline throughout the year.
• Lead procurement for CAPEX investments - machinery, tooling, moulds, automation, and infra.
• Evaluate ROI, vendor capability, lifecycle cost, and scalability.
• Lead high-stakes negotiations with key suppliers and partners.
• Develop deep insider understanding of crop cycles, seasonality, yield trends, and commodity markets.
• Track price movements and implement dynamic pricing and forward-buying strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and alternates.
• Build a multi-vendor, de-risked sourcing ecosystem.
• Ensure procurement decisions meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Strengthen procurement systems, ERP integration, and approval workflows.

What We're Looking For:

• 8 - 12 years of experience in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing.
• Strong FMCG / Food / Agri / Consumer Products background.
• Proven exposure to crop-linked raw materials and commodity pricing.
• Experience handling CAPEX procurement and vendor negotiations.
• Strong commercial acumen with analytical depth.
