JOB TITLE: Azure Data Engineer

REPORTS TO: Manager, Application Engineering

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Cloud to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Azure services. They will work closely with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with business objectives and requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure in Azure Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes especially with Azure Cloud Technology Tools.
• Develop data models and schemas to support business requirements.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency through effective data validation, testing, and monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements.
• Implement auditing mechanisms and access controls to ensure compliance with Arete’s data security and privacy policies.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to data pipelines, data models, and other related processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
• Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Azure Cloud and data engineering.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Azure Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Stream Analytics.
• Strong SQL programming skills and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and database administration.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices
• Understanding of software design patterns
• Knowledge of version control tools such as Git
• Experience with agile development methodologies

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Aretes salary and benefit policy.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
