Job Description
- As an Electrical Engineer at CDM Smith, you will be responsible for creating basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems. Your role will involve performing studies of power systems and electrical calculations for various systems, such as lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, and security. You will make selections and define specifications of electrical components, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Additionally, you will review draft designs, conduct site reviews, and update design requirements as necessary.
To excel in this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline, along with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities or industrial facilities is preferred. A Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering would be advantageous. Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Revit, and power systems analysis software like SKM, ETAP, EASY POWER is desirable for creating and developing drawings for electrical systems.
