Job Description
- As a Communication and Marketing Specialist at CDM Smith Inc., your role will involve developing, writing, producing, and promoting communications and marketing materials of varying complexity levels. You will be responsible for creating content for marketing campaigns, brand management, internal programs, and employee communications. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating basic to highly complex marketing and communication content
- Developing creative briefs, writing copy, working with designers, and obtaining necessary approvals
- Promoting content across various channels such as email programs, websites, social media, events, and advertising
- Administering the implementation of marketing and communications programs
- Tracking key performance metrics and modifying programs based on results
- Providing technical guidance and training to junior staff
- Performing any other duties as required
You should possess the following qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, or related field

- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent command of grammar and spelling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines under time constraints
- Willingness to work beyond standard work hours when necessary
In addition to the qualifications, you should have advanced knowledge of all communication platforms, the ability to research technical information and synthesize data, and strong written and oral communication skills. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital channels.
