Job Description

The DSE Platform Independent Common (PI-Common) group at Cisco is responsible for developing high-performance system software that operates across Cisco's flagship routers and switches, including Enterprise Switching & Routers, Data Center Switches, and Service Provider Routing Platforms. As a part of this team, your impact will be significant as you contribute your expertise in internet working technologies and applications, with a focus on software development in C within a multi-threaded environment. Your problem-solving skills will be key as you work on data structures, operating systems, and data networking fundamentals for large and complex network devices, particularly in the routing & switching systems domain. Experience in developing features in the Multicast area is desirable, as well as expertise in complex multi-threaded real-time systems. Familiarity with Cisco IOS-XE and hands-on experience in areas such as RTOS Internals, High Availability, IPC, Memory management, Distributed communications Infrastructure, Serviceability, Linux, Containers, and Virtualization will be advantageous. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for optimal collaboration across different organizational groups. Your willingness to work in diverse teams across geographies and your ability to learn quickly, self-drive, and strive for excellence will be key contributors to your success in this role. Ideally, you hold a Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related majors with over 11 years of experience.
