Job Description
of HOD
Eligibility Criteria of a HOD
PhD degree in the relevant discipline (Preferred)
Masters degree (M.Tech(CSE) with at least 55% marks (Essential)
- 7-12 years of teaching/research/industry experience
- Proven record of Domain Specific Knowledge (Ex: AI/ML, FSD, Cyber Security/Data Science etc.)
- Proven record of publications in SCI/Scopus indexed journals.
- Proven record of academic leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development, BOS, academic committees.
- Proven record of guiding projects, dissertations, PhD students (preferred)
- Experience in accreditation activities (NAAC/NBA) (preferred)
- Proven ability to manage faculty, timetables, academic planning
- Ability to meet compliance of UGC, AICTE, NEP-2020 norms
- Involvement in COPO mapping, OBE implementation, credit structure design, etc.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of a HOD in Indian Universities
- Working closely with the University stakeholders.
- Ensuring 100% syllabus completion on time
- Monitoring faculty lecture quality and teaching plans
- Ensuring academic calendar compliance
- Reducing student complaints related to academics
- Timely preparation of timetables and workloads
- Monitoring punctuality, course files, attendance updates
- Faculty training & FDP participation
- Conducting mentoring / faculty review meetings
- Encouraging a research culture within the department
