Role Description The Head of Department of Computer Science will provide academic and technical leadership for the department, overseeing curriculum design, course planning, and alignment with industry and emerging technologies. This full-time, on-site role based in Mohali district includes supervising faculty and technical staff, mentoring team members, and fostering a collaborative, learner-centric environment. The role involves driving software development initiatives linked to CTPLs EdTech solutions, guiding research and innovation, and ensuring that departmental projects meet quality, scalability, and security standards. The Head will coordinate with other departments and senior leadership on strategic initiatives, manage departmental projects and resources, and support partnerships with external stakeholders such as universities, industry partners, and professional bodies.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development, with experience in modern programming languages, frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
• Candidates should possess proven Team Management and Team Leadership skills, including mentoring faculty and staff, performance management, and building high-performing academic and technical teams.
• Candidates should possess Project Management expertise, covering planning, execution, risk management, and delivery of academic, research, and product-led initiatives.
• Candidates should possess capabilities in Enterprise Architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions for educational platforms.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline (Masters or PhD preferred), with a strong academic or industry track record.
• Experience in academic leadership or heading a department, preferably within higher education or EdTech, with familiarity in curriculum development and accreditation standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, learner-focused education, openness to interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional development.
