Senior Accountant ( Accounting Services )

Role Overview

The primary role of the Senior Accountant – Accounting Services is to support the delivery of high-quality accounting services to clients by managing day-to-day accounting operations, reviewing financial reports, and assisting in team coordination.

This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, supports process improvements, mentors junior team members, and helps maintain operational efficiency while delivering exceptional client service.

Position Specification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)

• 4–6 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a senior accountant or team lead role.

• Experience reviewing bookkeeping activities and preparing accurate monthly financial statements.

• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.

• Experience working with multiple clients and managing competing deadlines.

• Ability to review financial reports, identify discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy.

• Experience with accounts payable, bill payment systems, and month-end close processes.

• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).

• Experience following and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) and accounting workflows.

• Ability to prioritize workloads and support the team during high-volume periods.

• Experience assisting in client communication, handling routine client queries, and ensuring timely deliverables.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with managers and cross-functional teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)

• Experience mentoring or guiding junior accountants.

• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with management reporting and KPI reporting.

• Understanding of engagement profitability and resource planning.

• Experience with process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Exposure to multiple industries, including professional services, not-for-profit organizations, or construction.

• Experience with additional accounting software and workflow management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for assigned client accounts.

• Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely delivery.

• Coordinate multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

• Mentor and support junior accountants through guidance and review.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and client requirements.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement efficient accounting workflows and SOPs.
