Blood Bank Technician

Job Specification:

• Diploma or bachelors degree holder in Blood Bank /MLT
• A minimum of 1+ years of experience.
• Should be good in Communication, Email and Telephone etiquette.

Roles & Responsibility:

• To register and get complete details of donors & to bleed them after checking fitness.
• To collect sample from donor for blood grouping, typing, antibody screening, and TTI screening.
• To do separation of blood components and confirmation of blood group, antibody screening and TTI screening by Rapid & Elisa method.
• To do appropriate labelling of blood bags and storing them in respective compartments.
• To receive blood sample of patients and to check complete details of them in requisition form received from wards/ OT/ labour room and others.
• To issue blood bag along with transfusion IV set & feedback form, after the confirmation of blood group and type, cross matching, antibody screening and coomb’s test (if required) of the patient sample.

Get Hired
• To get back the feedback form and used blood bags for disposal after the blood transfusion.
• To maintained equipment cleanliness, stock maintenance and indent for stock as and when required.
• To do quality control for all the newly opened reagents and also to do the internal & external quality control for all the tests.
• To document all the above mentioned works in the respective registers.
• Handling The critical situations and guiding the juniors.
• Preparing monthly statistics report
• Reporting to Head of the Department.
