Senior Quality Test Engineer II

About The Role
This role partners with development and cross-functional teams to design, plan, and execute testing strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and data. You will apply automation and performance testing approaches to support reliable, scalable, and efficient product outcomes. The position focuses on driving quality practices across the development lifecycle and contributing to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

• Innovating process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction
• Researching available tools and leading or participating in initiatives to identify and implement solutions that enhance testing capabilities and product quality
• Developing and executing automated and performance testing for assigned projects to support successful, consistent delivery
• Interacting with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan testing and ensure products meet requirements and quality standards
• Reporting issues and results, identifying root causes, and documenting findings
• Ensuring that testing addresses agreed requirements with stakeholders
• 
  Conducting project reviews, defining review criteria, and implementing procedures for quality control of deliverables
• Leading or participating in continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices
  

Requirements

• Demonstrated ownership for overall product quality and ability to drive quality practices across development and testing activities
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software development lifecycle, and process improvement practices
• Ability to define test strategies and design comprehensive test scenarios including functional, integration, and edge cases
• Programming experience in Java and ability to design and maintain automation solutions
• Experience testing microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based applications (AWS)
• Experience working with event-driven systems using Kafka or similar platforms and with complex data formats such as Parquet, XML, JSON, and large datasets
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration, schema validation approaches, and observability tools such as New Relic
• Strong collaboration, analytical, and root cause analysis skills with a focus on continuous improvement
