Costing & Budgeting Engineer

Role Overview:

The Budgeting & Costing Civil Engineer will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and monitoring project budgets and costs, ensuring that projects are executed within approved financial limits. The role requires expertise in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, cost estimation, and monitoring of actual expenditure against budgets for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budgeting & Estimation
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates for civil, structural, finishing , MEP and infrastructure works.
• Detailed quantity take off and verification of area statement for each stage.
• Rate analysis of all kind of activities as per drawings, specifications, and market rates.

• Prepare budget at various stages like concept stage , tender stage , GFC stage etc with detailed covering materials base rate items , equipments , permits , labour , terms and other cost including overheads .
• Collaborate with design consultants and other related teams .
• Preparation of tender package , review BIOQ in line with specifications & drawings .
• Preparation of various MIS reports in line with SOP.
• Cost Control & Monitoring
• Track project expenditures, commitments, and forecast cost-to-complete.
• Analyze variances between planned and actual costs, reporting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor billing in line with project budgets.
• Implement cost control strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with various departments to align budgetary goals.

• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and cost estimation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and market rates.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
