Consultant Nephrologist

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic kidney diseases, including glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and polycystic kidney disease.
  
• Manage patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and oversee dialysis treatments (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
  
  
• Monitor and treat complications related to kidney disorders, such as anemia, bone disease, and fluid/electrolyte imbalances.
  
• Evaluate and prepare patients for kidney transplantation and provide post-transplant care.
  
• Interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies.

  Work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists (e.g., urologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists) to coordinate patient care.
  
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes, dietary requirements, and medication compliance to slow kidney disease progression.
  
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records.
  
• Participate in on-call duties and manage nephrology emergencies.
