Associate Product Manager (Gulaq App)

About the Role

Gulaq App is an AI first wealth advisory platform with the vision to democratize high quality and personalized wealth advisory for every Indian.

We are looking for a high-ownership Associate Product Manager (2+ Years Product Experience) who will drive structured feature execution across our mobile app ecosystem. This role requires strong product thinking, disciplined documentation, hands-on coordination, and the ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving startup environment.

The position sits at the intersection of user experience, execution rigor, fintech product development, and cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Requirement Definition & Execution

• Translate product initiatives into clear and structured Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
• Define detailed user journeys, states, validations, and edge-case scenarios.
• Ensure feature clarity before development begins and maintenance of structured documentation.
• Track feature progress from the requirement stage to production release.
• Maintain release documentation and version-level change tracking.

2. User Research & Experience Optimization

• Conduct user research and structured user interviews to gather qualitative insights.
• Identify friction points across key app journeys such as onboarding, authentication, investment discovery, and core feature usage.
• Translate user feedback into actionable product improvements.
• Work closely with design teams to ensure intuitive and logically consistent user experiences.
  
• Strengthen clarity and confidence across critical financial workflows.

3. QA Alignment & Release Validation

• Review QA test cases to ensure alignment with documented product requirements.
• Identify gaps between requirements and test coverage and provide structured feedback.
• Perform sanity validation before production releases.
• Ensure implemented features match intended functionality and documented user flows.

4. Vendor & Cross-Team Coordination

• Act as a bridge between internal engineering teams and external vendors for API integrations and third-party services.
• Coordinate requirement sharing, clarifications, and functional validation across teams.
• Support API testing and request/response validation using tools such as Postman.
• Ensure integrated workflows are logically structured and aligned with business requirements.
• Maintain strong internal alignment across engineering, compliance, marketing, and other stakeholders.

5. Continuous Product Improvement

• Contribute structured inputs to product roadmap discussions.
• Evaluate feature effectiveness through user behavior and feedback.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and strengthen product flows.
• Maintain a high bar for execution quality and user trust in a regulated financial environment.

Must-Have Skills

• 2–4 years of experience in Product Management or equivalent experience.
• Experience working on a consumer-facing mobile app (Android and/or iOS).
• Strong PRD writing skills with clear user-flow documentation.
• Experience coordinating closely with engineering and QA teams.
• Ability to conduct user interviews and translate insights into structured improvements.
• Familiarity with API validation tools such as Postman.
• Strong ownership mindset with execution discipline.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in mutual funds, stock markets, trading platforms, fintech, or wealth-tech products.
• Understanding of financial user journeys and digital investment products.
• Exposure to compliance-driven or regulated product environments.
• Experience working in a lean startup environment with high accountability.
