Job Purpose:
The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible to provide technical support to users for the Bank’s system, associated subsystems, applications, software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, as well as resolving the technical issues related to all bank systems. The Jobholder also provides support for applications software and systems including applications administration as applicable.
Key Accountabilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to software hardware and networking.
- Develop and maintain system problem analysis and resolution techniques.
- Be a mentor and coach for assigned (Associate) Technical Analysts in the team.
- Support applications and operations with technical consultation and specialized programming if needed.
- Provide the required technical and application support to bank users.
- Communicate and document the support issues and escalating to the appropriate IT staff or vendor when necessary.
- Coordinate activities among different business and technical groups.
- Carry out assignments, alone or as part of a team, applying knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the issues and problems raised and proposes viable solutions within the acceptable scope.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of current practice within own area of expertise.
- Work with business users, IT business and technical support teams and vendors, monitor and report on the progress of required tasks and maintain an emphasis on the early identification and, rectification of problems.
- Provide exceptional customer service that increases the current customer satisfaction levels.
- Maintain documentation of existing systems and processes
- Provide appropriate and required guidance and support as needed for the Business Resumption Plan testing, including first-level testing as required.
- Guide and assist in other on-going projects in other functional units, from time to time, as directed by the direct Group Leader, Manager - Channels Support, the Head of IT Service Operations, and the Group Chief Information Officer.
- Interface with internal and external entities (such as other project teams, ITD units, user departments, external businesses, suppliers, vendors, etc.) with respect to projects, costs information, software, hardware and other areas as required.
- Conform to IT and bank policy and procedures.
- Performs at or above the enterprise’s Information Technology performance standards.
- Fulfils departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the junior team members. Be a role model in terms of technical capability, adaptability and customer service focus.
- Strives to learn the job functions of the position’s immediate superior as well as peer-level positions with whom the individual interacts. It is the responsibility of the individual to be prepared for temporary re-assignment and/or promotion due to extended illness, personal emergency or business necessity.
- Good team player with the ability to work very effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented manner with other team members. Must have initiative and a positive work attitude and must be a quick learner with a zeal for self-learning. Must be confident, eager and willing to take on new challenges. Must be cooperative with good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills. Direct customer communication experience would be an advantage
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi task.
- Experience in Java Development.
- Specialized Skills: Should be proficient and having hands-on experience in application server administration (WebSphere Application server) & Webserver (IBM HTTPS)
- Must have expert knowledge on Web/App server clustering & troubleshooting and should perform various tuning of web server / application servers.
- Expertise in UNIX Shell Scripting, Python / Jython scripting and automation.
- Experience integrating and working with WAS, IBM Https, AIX, Linux, LDAP, SQL, Oracle and other related technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Databases
- Experience with best practice methodologies (ITIL)

- A University degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of overall IT experience in the software systems development life cycle (SDLC) process and support among which 3-5years banking experience is an added advantage.
- Experience in supporting 24x7 systems is necessary.
