Job Description
- The Lead Applications Software Developer at firstsourc provides high-level technical and analytical leadership to software development teams, manages business analysis activity, and oversees software development for external clients. In this role, you will contribute a high level of subject matter expertise to the IT department and coordinate the administration of assignments for projects and tasks. Additionally, you will champion IT strategic initiatives, bring awareness to industry trends, and mentor other software developers.
Your primary responsibilities will include leading software development groups and teams through various stages such as change control, issues resolution, requirements management, analysis and design, programming/construction, testing, and transition of applications into a production environment. You will serve as a technical expert on development, coding, testing, and debugging stages, provide visibility to clients, and act as a frontline point of contact regarding standards. Furthermore, you will formulate system scope and objectives, lead activities through all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and develop detailed specifications and application coding.
As the Lead Applications Software Developer, you will work with various units within the organization to facilitate development, validation, and delivery of software solutions. You will also lead the planning and training of internal clients when new applications are launched or new processes are implemented. Collaboration between team members and across different departments will be crucial to identify ways to improve existing processes and technical output.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong programming skills and knowledge of information processing technology. Extensive experience with current software engineering standards, practices, methods, tools, and trends is essential. Prior experience working with Windows and Unix operating systems is required, along with a proactive approach to problem resolution, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team-oriented environment.

Education and experience requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent coursework emphasizing information processing or business-related curricula. Additionally, 8-10 years of progressively responsible software development experience is preferred. Hands-on experience with Auth0, expertise in JavaScript, Java, and Node.js development, as well as experience with AWS services are key qualifications for this role.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with Python, Spring Boot, frontend frameworks like React or Angular integrated with Auth0, and familiarity with IAM protocols such as OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, JWT, and PKCE. Your ability to interact effectively with all departments and employee levels, develop technical solutions aligned with corporate objectives, and work independently on multiple projects will be critical to your success in this position. Your strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and adherence to quality standards and industry best practices will be invaluable assets in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Lead Applications Software Developer role at firstsourc.,
