Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Gastroenterologist to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of independent clinical experience post-DM, with demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic diseases. The role involves both outpatient and inpatient care, endoscopic procedures, and participation in multidisciplinary clinical discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, capsule endoscopy, and PEG insertion (as per skill set).
• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
• Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, hepatologists) for multidisciplinary patient management.
• Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, and clinical audits.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in the department.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control practices.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and reports.
• Engage in research, publications, and protocol development where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience:

• DM / DNB (Gastroenterology) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of post-DM clinical experience in Gastroenterology.
• Valid medical registration with the relevant medical council.
• Proven expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Excellent clinical judgment, patient communication, and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in advanced endoscopic techniques (e.g., EUS, ERCP).
• Exposure to hepatology and liver transplant medicine.
• Interest in academic or research work.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
