What is Accounts Payable team responsible for?
  • Ensure the timely capture, approval, coding and payment of invoices for a Franklin Templeton US based subsidiary. Contribute to the success of a growing investment manager. Maintain a high standard of professionalism to both internal and external constituents while safeguarding financial controls. Perform other ad hoc department activities including research and miscellaneous project work.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Accounts Payable - Associate?
Invoice Processing

  • Managing inbound A/P & communication with all firm vendors

  • Capturing invoice details into the accounts payables system

  • Ensuring accurate coding, including bespoke allocations across the firm’s affiliated funds and advisors

  • Inputting all high priority invoices on a daily basis

  • Inputting all standard priority invoices within 2 business days

  • Ensuring approvals are consistent with GCAP policy.

  • Requesting assistance early if they cannot complete the assigned input within the specified timeframe.

  • Maintaining established quality, productivity and timeliness standards


Department Support

  • Perform ad-hoc reconciliation and spend analysis to assist firm with expense management.

  • Research vendor contracts for payment compliance

  • Develop in house A/P system & processes for maximum efficiency.


What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Commerce graduate with M Com / MBA finance

  • Understanding and interpretation of commercial taxation laws

  • Two to Four years of relevant work experience with emphasis in accounting / financial transactions

  • Knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Project, Windows, Visio, etc.) required.


Additional Desirable Qualifications
  • Working knowledge in ERP System with Imaging workflow tool, preferably PeopleSoft.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • General knowledge of fundamental accounting and AP operations

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including company management.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a deadline-sensitive and customer-service oriented environment.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.

  • Ability to type 60+ words per minute.

  • Strong attention to details
