HR Leader for Large Higher Education Group in Mumbai - XLRI, MDI, TISS,XISS, Symbiosis
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Design and implement a consortium-wide HR strategy that supports launch, growth, and long-term sustainability in India.
- Establish standardized HR policies, frameworks, and governance models applicable across all organisations within the consortium.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and governance to HR Heads across organisations.
Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning:
People Leadership & Culture Building:
- Build and nurture a high-performance, values-driven culture across a diverse, multi-geography, multicultural ecosystem.
- Drive leadership development, performance management frameworks, and employee engagement initiatives across organisations and campuses.
Policy Design, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Develop and enforce HR policies covering employment practices, compensation structures, performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary frameworks across organisations.
Compensation, Benefits & Rewards:
- Design competitive and equitable compensation and benefits frameworks across organisations, aligned with global benchmarks and local market realities.
- Oversee annual compensation reviews, incentive structures, and benefits administration across the consortium.
HR Operations & Systems:
- Oversee HR operations including HRIS implementation, data governance, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle management, and HR analytics across organisations.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Partner closely with senior leadership, academic leaders, and global stakeholders to align people strategy with organisational objectives.
Scaling & Greenfield Campus Support:
- Play a critical role in greenfield campus and organisation launches, including organisation design, staffing models, HR readiness, and rapid scale-up support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Postgraduate qualification in HR or a related discipline from a top-tier Indian organisation (XLRI / TISS / MDI / IIMs or equivalent).
- 10-15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with significant exposure to large, complex, multi-entity or matrixed organisations.
- Proven experience leading central HR functions supporting multiple organisations, business units, and geographies.
- Strong expertise in HR strategy, labour law compliance, compensation design, performance management, leadership development, and organisational design.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior academic leaders, global stakeholders, and diverse leadership teams in high-growth or transformation environments.
