Petrochemicals & Chemicals Practice
Location: - Mumbai / Hybrid
Role Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Associate Director to drive client engagement, business development, and delivery leadership within the Petrochemicals & Chemicals practice.
This role requires a strong blend of industry expertise, consulting delivery experience, and revenue ownership, with responsibility for shaping client strategy agendas and leading large-scale transformation programs across petrochemical and chemical value chains.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Revenue Ownership
- Own and drive revenue targets for the petrochemicals & chemicals segment.
- Identify, originate, and convert opportunities across:
- Growth strategy & market entry
- Operational excellence & cost transformation
- Supply chain & procurement transformation
- Sustainability and energy transition
- Lead end-to-end proposal development, including solution design, pricing, and commercial structuring.
- Build and expand CXO-level relationships across key accounts.
2. Engagement Leadership:
- Lead multiple, concurrent consulting engagements with full accountability for delivery, quality, and profitability.
- Oversee complex programs spanning petrochemical value chains (olefins, aromatics, polymers) and specialty chemicals.
- Provide strategic direction and executive-level recommendations to clients.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, and delivery excellence.
3. Industry & Domain Expertise:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on petrochemical and chemical sector topics.
- Provide deep insights on feedstock economics, margin dynamics, and global demand-supply trends.
- Lead development of thought leadership, whitepapers, and industry POVs.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Position the firm as a strategic partner across transformation agendas.
- Drive account mining and cross-selling across service lines.
5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary consulting teams.
- Drive team capability building in petrochemicals domain and consulting toolkits.
- Support hiring, performance management, and team development.
6. Practice Development
- Contribute to practice strategy and go-to-market initiatives.
- Build repeatable consulting frameworks, tools, and knowledge assets.
- Collaborate with global teams to bring best practices and innovations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering / Petrochemical Engineering (mandatory)
- MBA from a top-tier institution preferred
Experience:
- 10-12 years of experience in consulting or petrochemicals/chemicals industry
- Proven track record in selling and delivering consulting engagements
- Strong experience in strategy and transformation programs
- Deep understanding of petrochemical and chemical industry value chains
- Experience managing large teams and multi-workstream programs
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong commercial acumen and deal origination capability
- Deep industry expertise in petrochemicals and chemicals
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving ability
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience with global consulting firms or large petrochemical/chemical companies
- Strong industry network
- Experience across India and/or global markets
