Brand Marketing Director Location: Mumbai / Bangalore / Delhi (Remote) - D2C only

We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial and consumer-obsessed Brand Marketing Director to lead and scale our brand presence in India. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of brand building, community, content, partnerships, and growth marketing.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the brand strategy for the Indian market, driving awareness and engagement, launching new products, building meaningful consumer connections, and ensuring brand initiatives contribute to measurable business growth.
This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to work closely with founders and leadership teams to build a category-defining consumer brand from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Brand Strategy & Positioning :
- Develop and execute the India brand strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Build a strong, differentiated brand positioning that resonates with the Indian consumer.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all consumer touchpoints.
2. Marketing & Growth :
- Own end-to-end marketing initiatives, including brand campaigns, product launches, and customer engagement programs.
- Bridge brand-building efforts with performance-driven growth objectives.
- Monitor and optimize marketing effectiveness through data-driven decision-making.
3. Content & Storytelling :
- Lead the development of compelling content and storytelling initiatives across digital and offline channels.
- Create culturally relevant campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and brand affinity.
- Ensure all content reflects the brand's values and consumer promise.
4. Partnerships & Collaborations :
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with creators, influencers, industry experts, communities, and complementary brands.
- Drive collaborations that enhance brand visibility and cultural relevance.
- Build scalable ambassador and advocacy programs.
5. Community Building :
- Develop and nurture a strong consumer community.
- Translate customer insights into impactful campaigns, content, and product initiatives.
- Champion customer feedback across the organization.
6. Team Leadership :
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing marketing team across brand, community, partnerships, and content functions.
- Manage external agencies, freelancers, and creative partners.
- Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation, and accountability.
7. Innovation & Experimentation :
- Explore and test new marketing channels, formats, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
- Drive continuous learning and experimentation to unlock scalable growth.
8. Consumer Insights :
- Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization.
- Leverage market research, customer feedback, and analytics to inform brand and product strategies.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
- 6-10 years of experience in Brand Marketing, preferably within consumer, lifestyle, wellness, beauty, health, FMCG, or D2C businesses.
- Proven track record of building and scaling consumer brands.

- Exposure to both brand marketing and growth/performance marketing.
- Strong understanding of digital-first consumer businesses.
- Experience managing agencies, cross-functional stakeholders, and marketing teams.
- Deep understanding of the Indian consumer and evolving cultural trends.
- Strong analytical mindset combined with exceptional storytelling capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial and hands-on, with a passion for building from zero to one.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

- Prior experience launching new products, creating category awareness, and driving consumer adoption in beauty, personal care, or wellness categories will be an advantage.
