Position and missions
Infra and Energy core functions include:
- Execute project finance transactions as Mandated Lead Arranger and Underwriter (or Co-Mandated Lead Arranger and Underwriter) and/or Financial Advisor across key sectors (Power and Renewables, Energy Transition and Natural Resources, Telecom and Transportation and Social) within the geographical area directly covered by the INFA team in Dubai for Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia.
- Assist the Head and the senior members of the team in developing the business in line with the strategy of the Bank.
- Actively assist the team to further the relationships with clients and ideas/content through collaboration with Coverage and Industry Bankers.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation and optimization of financing offers for clients.
- Preparation of bids when supporting clients as financial advisor or as Mandated Lead Arranger on public tenders and bid submissions.
- Financing structuring and optimization of the capital structure in order to determine the most suitable source of financing.
- Execute capital raising processes with banks, institutional investors, bond underwriters, rating agencies and other financiers.
- Assist the senior team in commercial document negotiations on behalf of sponsors on advisory mandates (offtake agreements, EPC contracts, O&M contracts and all other project documents) and as lead arranger on lending mandates.
- Perform the entire internal due diligence process on lending mandates.
- Management of day-to-day transactions with clients of the bank with oversight from the senior team.
- Develop first-in-class financial modelling capabilities as well as structuring, negotiations and credit skills.
- Manage all internal procedures including credit processes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of development in Project Finance as well as current transactions, trends in the region (structures, pricings, banks) and opportunities in the market.
- Preparation of Ficoms, Bizcoms, credit applications, information memorandum, offering memo and other presentations to support the advisory mandates and internal credit processes.
- Execute internal credit processes on arranging mandates, including coordination and presentation to credit committee and senior management in the bank in accordance with internal procedures, management guidelines and decisions.
- Prepare material for marketing of cross-selling business to clients.
- Assist in developing primary and secondary distribution channels with banks and non-banks (NBFIs, Asset Managers, Life Insurance Companies, private insurers) together with Syndication and insurance teams, coordinating and ensuring regular follow-up with syndication and private insurance teams.
- Assist syndication in the distribution process (teaser and IM preparation, assistance in due diligence process).
- Prepare the marketing material to existing or potential clients that are involved in project finance and other primary sources for developing and sourcing financing opportunities.
- Contribute directly to internal presentations and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IEFs workbook, DIFC Branch Guidelines and Compliance requirements.
- Keep up to date with new tools and systems development and ensure that the new tools are properly implemented and used (POE simulator, Singular, KYC related tools).
- Ensure that all business reporting tools and compliance tools are regularly updated (Singular and ODEON).
- Ensure swift coordination with the Middle Office and DPM team (preparation of closing memos, management of CP satisfaction, coordination with Middle Office and Back Office to ensure a swift first drawdown, deal transfers to DPM).
- Prepare internal and external marketing and communication on all closed deals.

Control
Follow all internal controls in place to carry out the activity in the region. This includes the regulatory, compliance, legal and suitability framework for transacting with clients in these sectors.
Legal and regulatory responsibilities
Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements (DIFC Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time) and financial security requirements (prevention of financial crime and fraud).
Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role.
Eligibility
This position is only open to candidates who are eligible for the Business France V.I.E program:
- French or European citizens.
- Between 18 and 28 years old.
- To be from a country other than the host country.
- Graduated.
Profile and required skills
- Postgraduate or masters degree level as a minimum and multiple language skills would be viewed favourably.
- A prior internship or analyst short experience (minimum 6 months) in Infrastructure and Energy Finance in a reputable financial institution, advisory firm or relevant industry.
- Basic knowledge in Project Finance.
- Basic understanding of the various sectors of infrastructure (energy transition, environment, transport, social infrastructure, digital infrastructure).
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong credit analysis skills.
- Proven numerical and financial skills, and financial modelling experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel.
- Ability to work with respect in every area of their role, avoiding and overcoming conflict situations in a professional manner.
- Persistent and committed to finding solutions to overcome challenges.
- Integrity and good teamworking skills.
