Job Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance with API 6D and API 641 standards for Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves and Expanding Plug Valves. The role covers end-to-end quality assurance across casting, forging, machining, assembly, testing, supplier management, and customer inspections, with a strong focus on Quality control and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance
• Ensure compliance with API 6D, API 641, API 598, API 607 / API 6FA, ISO 9001, and customer specifications.
• Review contract quality requirements, QAP, ITP, and inspection checklists.
• Support and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Establish and monitor quality KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Valve Manufacturing & Functional Quality
• Lead quality activities for Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves and Plug Valves.
• Monitor machining, assembly, and testing processes for dimensional and functional compliance.
• Review and approve procedures for:
o Hydrostatic & Pneumatic Pressure Testingo Low-pressure Gas Testingo Torque, Functional & Operational Testingo Fire Safe Testing (API 607 / API 6FA)
Casting & Forging Quality
• Evaluate, approve, and audit casting and forging suppliers.
• Pattern Drawing review and approval
• Pattern Inspection and approval
• Review heat treatment procedures and metallurgical compliance.
• Approve and verify MTCs (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2).
• Monitor and control defects such as porosity, shrinkage, inclusions, cracks, laps, and segregation.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME, and API material standards.
Supplier Quality Management
• Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and improvement programs.

• Drive quality improvements in foundry and forging processes.
Inspection, NDT & Testing
• Review and approve NDT procedures and reports (RT, UT, MT, PT).
• Ensure dimensional inspection using gauges, CMM, and precision instruments.
• Coordinate with TPI agencies and customer inspectors for stage and final inspections.
Documentation & Customer Interface
• Prepare and review Manufacturing Record Books (MRB / Dossiers).
• Support customer inspections, FATs, and quality review meetings.
• Act as the key quality interface for customers, EPCs, and regulatory bodies.
