Assistant General Manager - Operations - Plant

Role Overview:
Lead and oversee end-to-end operations of the plastic injection moulding plant in Gujarat, ensuring smooth production, maintenance, quality control, and adherence to safety standards.
Drive plant productivity, process improvement, cost optimization, and production target achievement while leading cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the plant's operational strategy and execution to achieve production targets, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, assembly, and tool room activities, ensuring adherence to established procedures and best practices.

- Implement and maintain robust quality control systems to guarantee product quality and compliance with industry standards, minimizing defects and customer complaints.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and data-driven analysis.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance programs.
- Manage the plant's budget and financial performance, monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and supply chain, to resolve operational issues, implement new technologies, and optimize the overall manufacturing process.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing plastic injection moulding operations, including assembly and tool room activities, with a strong understanding of moulding processes and techniques.
- Proven ability to implement and drive process improvement initiatives, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and data analysis to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a diverse team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Deep understanding of quality control systems and procedures, with the ability to implement and maintain robust quality standards to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Plastics, or Industrial Engineering) or a related field.
- Adaptability to work on-site in a manufacturing plant environment in Gujarat.
- 16-20 years of relevant experience in operations management within the plastic injection moulding industry.
