QA Engineer - BI

EXO Edge is looking for BI Testing professionals who will work directly with the BI Development team to validate Business Intelligence solutions. As a QA Engineer, you will support both Manual and Unit test by building test strategies/test plans and cases for ETL and Business Intelligence components. You will validate SQL queries related to test cases and produce test summary reports.

In your journey as a QA Engineer, you will be:

Primarily focused on:

• Designing, documenting, and executing test plans, test harness, test scenarios/scripts and test cases for manual, automated and bug tracking tools


• Validating data sources, extracting data, applying transformation logic, and loading the data in the target tables

Fulfilling the below roles and responsibilities:

• Work with Business Analysts, BI Developers and Functional Team members to translate Business requirements into Test Cases


• Create and maintain complex SQL queries such as type 2 triggers, all types of joins, aggregations, groupings etc


• Must have experience in BI Intelligence/Business Intelligence and Visualization tools



• Should be experienced in Manual and Unit testing


• Executing the ETL DataStage jobs using UNIX shell scripts

Bringing in the below experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a QA in preferably in a Business Intelligence team
  


• B.Tech, BCA, B. Sc. Computer Science or relevant


• Exposure to Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling Concepts


• Experience in understanding ETL Source to Target Mapping Document


• Well-versed with writing detailed test cases for functional & non-functional requirements


• Experience on different types of testing that includes Black Box testing, Smoke testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, End-to-End Testing, Regression testing & User Acceptance testing (UAT) & Involved in Load Testing, Performance Testing & Stress Testing

Technically sound in:

• Experience in testing the code on any of the ETL Tools – Informatica Power Center / Microsoft SSIS / Snap Logic / DataStage


• Experience in Validating the Dashboards / Reports on any of the Reporting tools – Sisense / Tableau / SAP Business Objects / MicroStrategy


• Hands-on experience and strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)


• Good experience of Quality Assurance methodologies like Waterfall, V-Model, Agile, Scrum


• Expertise in using TFS / JIRA / Excel for writing the Test Cases and tracking the Defects


• Experience in scripting languages like Python to create automated Test Scripts or Automated tools like Query Surge will be an added advantage


• Data Warehousing / BI Testing, using any ETL and Reporting Tool with Oracle / SQL Server / Redshift as a Database


• Writing and troubleshooting SQL Queries using any of the Databases – Redshift / SQL Server / Oracle
