Job Overview
We are looking for a people leader with proven experience building data science models to deliver actionable insights. Preferred candidate will have a degree as well as experience leading and developing a team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Materials/Supply Chain data and/or processes. The Assistant Manager of Data Science and Governance will be responsible for leading a team in developing tools to improve data and processes for Hubbell. They will ensure to engage and align across the organization to facilitate compliance with policies and to ensure clean SAP data. This is a player-coach role where you will mentor and lead a team while also delivering projects on your own.
A Day In The Life

• Provide leadership to the team that includes coaching, training, and mentoring.
• Develop strategic tools and execute projects to drive value for the organization.
• Develop and maintain strong global relationships in a matrixed environment across segments and functional levels.
• Use various advanced data science modeling tools to build resources that can be adapted to PBI and used by others at Hubbell.
• Lead Master Data initiatives across Hubbells SAP sites to maintain data integrity.
• Develop training resources to support the tools being developed.
• Strong appreciation for data integrity and clear process disciplines.
  
• Proven ability to manage tight deadlines, priorities workload, and achieve results.
  

What will help you thrive in this role
Skills And Experience

• 5+ years building data science models and machine learning.
• 3+ years as a people leader, with emphasis on developing a team.
• 3+ years of working with Materials/Supply chain processes and/or master data, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with SAP data sources
  

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency with R/Python, SQL languages
• Understanding of data modeling and optimization techniques and best practices
• MS Office, SAP Hanna, and Power BI (DAX) helpful

• Ability to independently identify, qualify, and socialize opportunities that take advantage of emerging technologies and their application at Hubbell
• Use communication skills to influence and collaborate across the organization to achieve goals and add value to the organization
  

Education

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent
