Job Description
We are looking for a skilled System Engineer to join our IT Support team. You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and available to support day-to-day business operations.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues, implement infrastructure improvements, and provide technical support across servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers to ensure reliable and secure infrastructure operations.
- Administer Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Group Policies, and user accounts, including access and permissions management.
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage and support endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune or equivalent device management platforms.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, and proactively address potential infrastructure issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, operating system, application, and network-related issues.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Manage and monitor backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes to support operational resilience.
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and firewall infrastructure.
- Implement system updates, security patches, configuration changes, and security hardening in accordance with organisational standards.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, technical documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with Cyber Security and other technology teams to maintain compliance with organisational security policies and standards.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations.
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support, including incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and escalation management.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support when required to maintain business continuity and infrastructure availability.
Requirements
- 1–6 years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Support, or IT Operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
- Experience managing endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune or equivalent MDM solutions.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Basic understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure is desirable.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail with good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Willingness to provide after-hours support when required to ensure business continuity.
