Agentic Solutions Architect (Staff Augmentation)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to support the design and delivery of enterprise-grade agentic and intelligent automation solutions. Given how quickly this space is evolving, we are looking for someone with strong architecture fundamentals and a track record of delivering AI/automation solutions in productionplus the curiosity and pragmatism to evaluate and adopt emerging agent patterns and tools.

This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with responsibility for defining architecture patterns, guiding delivery teams, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and production-ready. Success looks like accelerating usable outcomes (POCs that can graduate to production) while putting the right guardrails in place for reliability, governance, and change management.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic & Intelligent Automation Architecture
• Architect end-to-end intelligent automation solutions that may include agent-driven, multi-step workflows (autonomous and/or human-in-the-loop).
• Define practical patterns for orchestration, approvals, exception handling, and auditability.
• Design architectures that integrate agents with RPA/bots, workflow platforms, APIs, enterprise applications, and data services.
• Establish decision criteria and reference patterns for selecting the right approach (agent vs. traditional automation vs. rules/workflow), balancing risk, cost, time-to-value, and organizational maturity.
• Create clear architecture artifacts (diagrams, integration patterns, non-functional requirements, and implementation guidance).

Copilot & Agent Platform Expertise

• Design and guide implementations using Microsoft agent and copilot capabilities such as Copilot Studio / Copilot Agent Builder and Azure AI agent services (or equivalent platforms).
• Establish best practices for agent lifecycle management (build, evaluation, deploy, monitor, iterate).
• Ensure copilot/agent solutions integrate cleanly with enterprise automation, identity, and data ecosystems.

RPA Integration

• Architect solutions that leverage RPA where it is the right fit (preference for UiPath; comparable enterprise RPA platforms considered).
• Define interaction models between agents and bots (e.g., agent-initiated RPA, supervisory patterns, fallback procedures).

• Review and guide RPA designs to ensure architectural consistency, scalability, and operational supportability.

Data & Analytics Integration

• Design agent integrations with enterprise data platforms (Databricks preferred), including patterns for data-driven decisioning and AI/ML-enabled automation.
• Partner with data and platform teams to align architecture across business and technical use cases.
• Ensure governed, least-privilege data access for agents and automations.

Context Management & Agent Communication

• Define and apply patterns for tool integration and context management (e.g., MCP or equivalent approaches for secure context/tool access).
• Architect agent memory, context boundaries, retrieval strategies, and tool-calling design with appropriate guardrails.
• Ensure solutions are auditable, explainable as appropriate, and compliant with enterprise standards.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the architectural authority for agentic and intelligent automation initiatives.
• Provide design reviews, architectural guidance, and mentoring to delivery teams.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Evaluate emerging tools and platforms and make architecture recommendations.

Required Experience & Skills

  Get Hired
  7+ years of experience in solution architecture, automation architecture, or enterprise system design.
• Experience delivering AI-driven and/or intelligent automation solutions, with at least some work in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Copilot Studio / Microsoft Power Platform automation, Azure AI agent services, or comparable agent frameworks/platforms.
• Strong experience with an enterprise RPA platform (UiPath preferred).
• Experience integrating solutions with a modern data platform (Databricks preferred) and working with data/ML teams.
• Solid understanding of API-based integrations, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native design patterns.
• Ability to operate independently in a contractor capacity and deliver clear architectural outcomes (patterns, guidance, and implementation support).

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with emerging agent interoperability/context patterns (e.g., MCP) or advanced context/tool management.
• Experience designing multi-agent workflows and/or orchestrations (including human-in-the-loop designs).
• Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) in enterprise environments.
• Prior experience supporting an Automation or AI Center of Excellence (standards, intake, governance, reusability).
• Experience establishing evaluation/observability practices for LLM/agent solutions (testing, monitoring, prompt/version management).
• Strong documentation and communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

Engagement Expectations

• Act as a hands-on architect: define patterns, unblock teams, and support implementation where needed.
• Deliver production-oriented architectures and pragmatic proofs of concept, with a clear path to hardening and operationalization.
• Work closely with internal teams to accelerate delivery and enable knowledge transfer.
• Support near-term delivery while establishing durable architectural foundations (standards, reference designs, and guardrails).
