Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex, multi-component publishing projects in higher education. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing end-to-end projects and ensuring that project goals are achieved on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively drive multiple project teams toward successfully meeting project and programme goals.
• Set up and lead project kick-off meetings and establish clear project documentation, including schedules and progress trackers.
• Define and manage project scope, team responsibilities, and vendor deliverables to ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Identify and address any issues or challenges in project team dynamics to maintain a productive work environment..
• Proactively manage risks, issues, and scope changes using structured change control processes.
• Maintain strong author relationships, ensuring timely communication, risk mitigation, and issue resolution with appropriate stakeholder involvement.
• Manage interdependencies across multiple projects and programmes, sharing key updates and lessons learned across teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements for continuous enhancement of project workflows.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with digital client platforms.
• Significant experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in higher education publishing.
• Proven ability to manage high-stakes, multi-component, and complex projects or programmes.
• Experience in author management and client engagement at senior levels.
• Strong understanding of content production workflows and publishing processes.
• Highly proficient in project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, risk, and change management.
• Expertise in Smartsheet, Jira, and Excel; ability to build and manage complex project schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
