Senior Data Analyst – Internal Audit

31041BRRole ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Controls Analyst-Internal Audit is an experienced position responsible for analytics requests supporting the Internal Audit team. The role may also support and participate in Internal Audits focused on financial, operational, or IT audits.

• Data Analytics: Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses and ability to pull data using relevant programs and coding from various platforms. Delivers analytics initiatives to address problems with the ability to identify data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan.
• Strong technical knowledge: Continuously expands knowledge of data analytics and use of technology to enhance audit testing, identify opportunities for continuous monitoring and repeatable test plan using data analytics and RPA tools such as Alteryx, Automation Anywhere, PowerBI etc. Maintains an understanding of the financial, operational, cyber, and technology processes, risks and controls related to Moodys business.
• Process automation: Locate and define new process improvement opportunities with the ability to identify data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan.
• Insights: Conducts data analysis, interpret data, analyse results and make recommendations using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports, present key insights to auditors and management using advanced visualization tools and highlight the data analytics capability to the Internal Audit team.
• Effective communication: Develops relationship with audit stakeholders and aligns audit projects based on stakeholders’ objectives of the area under review.
• Additional responsibilities: Maintains curiosity and exercises professional scepticism, and upholds and promotes professional ethics.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in a Big 4 Accounting firm and/or a global organization.
• Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or another similar business-related field required.
• Pursuing CISSP, CISA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure (servers, databases, firewalls, etc.) and IT operations assessment, design, architecture, management, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
• Proficiency in financial systems, Microsoft Office and other analytics and RPA tool (Alteryx, Automation Anywhere, PowerBI) is preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• An ideal candidate should be innovative, results oriented and should be able to demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, persuasion, team management, project management and critical thinking skills.
