Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager US Taxation (1065) with strong expertise in US partnership taxation, particularly in rental real estate and oil & gas entities. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience managing complex partnership tax returns, reviewing tax deliverables, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with US federal and state tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and review complex US partnership tax returns, including Form 1065 and related Schedule K-1s.
2. Oversee tax compliance for partnerships and entities operating in the rental real estate and oil & gas sectors.
3. Review partnership allocations, capital accounts, distributions, and partner level tax reporting.
4. Handle tax implications related to rental income, depreciation, asset dispositions, and real estate transactions.
5. Review oil and gas partnership tax matters, including depletion, intangible drilling costs (IDC), and other industry specific tax adjustments, where applicable.
6. Ensure accurate application of US federal and state partnership tax regulations.
7. Manage tax return preparation and review timelines, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
8. Identify complex tax issues, research relevant tax regulations, and recommend appropriate solutions.
9. Lead, mentor, and review the work of tax professionals while monitoring team productivity and performance.
10. Coordinate with US based clients and stakeholders to resolve tax queries and provide technical guidance.
11. Drive process improvements, quality control, and compliance with internal standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1. 6 - 12 years of relevant experience in US taxation, with substantial expertise in Form 1065 partnership tax returns.
2. Strong experience in rental real estate taxation.
3. Relevant exposure to oil & gas partnership taxation and related tax complexities.
4. Expertise in reviewing complex partnership returns, Schedule K-1s, allocations, and capital account reconciliations.
5. Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations.
6. Experience in tax return review, client management, and team leadership.
7. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

1. CPA, EA, CA, or other relevant professional qualification.
2. Experience working with US accounting firms, Big 4 firms, or specialized US tax service providers.
3. Familiarity with tax preparation software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem RS, or similar tools.
4. Experience handling complex multi-state partnership tax filings.
