Job Description
Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in managing and developing suppliers at a regional level to support organizational objectives. The role involves evaluating supplier capability, quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness through detailed data analysis. The Specialist contributes to procurement performance metrics, assists with commodity lifecycle management, and supports contract negotiations within authorized spending limits.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier & Procurement Management
- Play a significant role in developing, managing, and assessing suppliers across the region.
- Conduct supplier evaluations to ensure alignment with quality, reliability, compliance, and cost targets.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to support operational efficiency and long?term procurement strategies.
- Analyze supplier databases and procurement data to assess performance trends and cost competitiveness.
- Support development and maintenance of procurement dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards.
- Prepare analytical reports to enable data-driven decision-making for sourcing strategies.
- Assist in managing the full life cycle of assigned commodities, including sourcing, evaluation, and ongoing review.
- Support the execution of procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.
- Support negotiation of supplier agreements, terms, and pricing within established spending thresholds.
- Assist in drafting, evaluating, and awarding supplier contracts.
- Ensure contracts adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with sourcing, supply chain, operations, finance, and quality teams to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Support initiatives to reduce supply risk, enhance supplier performance, and improve overall procurement efficiency.
Education Requirements (any one):
- Bachelors degree with minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Associate degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and hands?on experience.
- Strong analytical and problem?solving skills.
- Experience with procurement processes, supplier evaluation, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of cost analysis and performance metrics.
- Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), SAP/ERP systems (preferred).
