Job Description

You are an experienced Naval Architect with a strong background in specialty cargo securing, structural analysis, and heavy-lift engineering for multipurpose vessels (MPVs). Your primary focus will be on conducting structural assessments, designing lashing solutions, and utilizing advanced engineering software to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-efficient operations. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in project cargo, offshore transport, or heavy-lift shipping.
Your responsibilities will include performing hull and deck structure strength assessments, proposing structural reinforcement for cargo securing, and preparing various technical documentation such as lashing calculations, stowage plans, and structural analysis reports. You will collaborate with Business/Chartering teams to provide engineering support for project bids and vessel evaluation. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders like Classification Societies, Owners, Charterers, and Shippers to address technical queries and disputes related to ship strength and cargo securing.
You will utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for structural simulation, actively seek design optimization opportunities to reduce operational costs, and mentor junior engineers on best practices in cargo securing and heavy-lift engineering. Maintaining a comprehensive work database and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations will also be part of your role.
