Logistics Buyer

Role & responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with project timelines and business goals. Design and evaluate transportation models for thermal power projects, including multimodal logistics.

Supplier Coordination: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and engaging logistics suppliers to support the transportation and delivery of project materials.

Procurement Support: Collaborate with senior buyers to prepare and issue requests for proposals (RFPs), quotations, and tenders related to logistics services.

Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiating favourable terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers.

Cost Analysis: Support cost analysis efforts by comparing quotations from various suppliers and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.

Order Management: Track and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of documentation related to logistics services.

Logistics Coordination: Work closely with internal teams and logistics providers to coordinate shipping schedules, routes, and delivery timelines.

Documentation Compliance: Ensure all shipping and logistics documentation meets regulatory requirements and company policies.

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP - SAP, logistics management tools, and MS Office Suite.
