Job Title: Junior Designer / Design Trainee

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Design Fresher to join our childrens book publishing team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for visual storytelling, an eye for colour and detail, and a love for children’s literature. You will assist senior designers and illustrators in creating engaging layouts, covers, and illustrations that bring stories to life for young readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Book Layouts & Design: Support in designing book covers, interiors, and layouts that align with brand and age-group aesthetics.
• Illustration Coordination: Work closely with illustrators to ensure artwork fits narrative and design guidelines.
• Image Editing: Edit, resize, and format illustrations, images, and graphics for print and digital versions.
• Pre-Press & Production Support: Prepare final print-ready files and coordinate with printers or production vendors.
• Creative Input: Contribute design ideas and visual concepts for storybooks, activity books, and marketing materials.
  
• Marketing Collateral: Design visuals for social media, catalogues, posters, and promotional campaigns.
• File & Asset Management: Maintain organized archives of design files, fonts, and digital assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Animation, or related field.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar design tools.
• A keen eye for colour, typography, and layout.
• Basic understanding of printing processes and file formats (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Passion for children’s content, storytelling, and creativity.
