Job Description
- As a Specialist Service Sales (Loads) in Chennai with 5-10 years of experience, your role involves simulating the site-specific benefits of the upgrade portfolio and verifying the structural integrity of installed wind turbines. You will collaborate with a global and cross-functional team, acting as the interface between customers, Service regions, and headquarter functions such as the Engineering Load Department, significantly impacting the business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Re-assess existing/planned wind farms using an internal tool chain to confirm upgrade compatibility and turbine-specific structural integrity
- Conduct site-specific wind conditions assessment, apply mechanical load mitigation strategies, run bucket approaches, and assess possibilities for lifetime extension
- Support upgrades sales by creating benefit calculations, driving validation campaigns, and initiating upgrade implementations
- Collaborate with global service regions and after-sales colleagues to convince customers and stakeholders, enabling successful product sales
- Make a measurable impact on the business performance of the global Service business unit
- Establish a strong network within the company and industry to stay updated on technological advancements
- Represent the team in strategic discussions and development decision meetings
Qualifications Required:
- Completed university studies in Engineering (B.E or equivalent) or Business/Economics with a strong technical background
- 5 to 10 years of experience in wind & site assessments, mechanical loads department, or equivalent technical service organizations in the wind energy industry
- Highly analytical with a holistic approach and strong problem-solving skills
- Self-driven, focused, and pragmatic with a track record of successfully navigating complex environments
- Optional knowledge in wind turbine technology (site assessment, wind turbine control, load calculation, aerodynamics, etc.)
- Optional experience with WindPRO and Python
- Fluent in English, with German proficiency as an advantage
In addition to the role-specific requirements, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and a good team player
- Adaptable to change and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently, be a member of global teams, and handle unexpected difficulties effectively
