Canadian Accounting Associate

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accounting professional with hands-on experience working with Canadian/US clients or CPA firms. The candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping, compilation engagements, tax returns and GST-related activities while ensuring accuracy and timely completion of client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle bookkeeping and accounting for Canadian/US clients.
• Prepare and assist with Compilation Engagements (Notice to Reader).
• Prepare and review Canadian tax returns including T1, T2, T3 and T5.
• Handle GST calculations, filings and related compliance activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to obtain required financial information.
• Identify and resolve accounting and tax-related discrepancies.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned client deliverables.
• Work on accounting and tax assignments for CPA firm clients.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with Canadian/US clients or CPA firms.
• Hands-on experience in Canadian Accounting and Taxation.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Bookkeeping
• Compilation / Notice to Reader
• T1, T2, T3 & T5 Tax Returns
• GST
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with international clients and manage deadlines.
• Willingness to work late/extended hours as required to support Canadian clients.

Software Proficiency

Hands-on experience with:

• CaseWare
• Profile
• QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• QuickBooks Desktop
