Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday ERP Support Engineer Finance & Accounting to take ownership of the Workday Financials platform in a post-implementation, steady-state (BAU) environment.

This role is responsible for ensuring application stability, providing advanced functional support, driving continuous optimization, and enabling Finance stakeholders to maximize business value from Workday Financial Management.

The position operates at the intersection of Finance Operations, IT Support, and Governance, ensuring compliance, performance, and reliability of enterprise financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Application Ownership & Operational Support

• Own end-to-end operational support for Workday Financial Management post go-live.
• Act as primary L2/L3 support for Finance & Accounting-related incidents, problems, and change requests.
• Ensure platform stability, data integrity, and high availability across all finance processes.
• Proactively monitor system performance and resolve issues to minimize business disruption.

Workday Finance Functional Support

• Support and maintain core Workday Finance modules, including:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)

• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Management
• Expenses
• Financial Reporting
• Troubleshoot and resolve accounting, posting, reconciliation, and reporting issues.
• Provide hands-on support during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles.

Change & Enhancement Management

• Manage small enhancements, configuration changes, and business rule updates.
• Perform impact analysis for finance-driven changes and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and maintain Business Process Framework (BPF), validations, approvals, and security roles.
• Support testing, documentation, and deployment of changes into production.

Integrations & Data Operations

• Monitor and support Workday financial integrations, including bank interfaces, tax systems, payroll, and third-party finance applications.
• Analyze and resolve integration failures, data mismatches, and reconciliation issues.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial data flow across upstream and downstream systems.

Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement

• Act as the Workday Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Finance, Accounting, Audit, and IT teams.
• Translate business and finance issues into system-level solutions.
• Provide user guidance, training support, and knowledge transfer to business users.
• Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams during audits and financial reviews.

Required Experience & Skills

  812 years of overall ERP experience with a strong focus on Finance & Accounting.
• 46 years of hands-on experience supporting Workday Financial Management, preferably in an AMS or post-go-live environment.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise financial operations in a steady-state BAU model.

Workday Expertise

• Strong functional knowledge of Workday Financial Management.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Business Process Framework (BPF)
• Role-based security and access controls
• Financial reporting and dashboards
• Working knowledge of Workday integrations such as EIB, APIs, and Studio (support-level exposure).

Finance & Accounting Knowledge

• Solid understanding of:
• General accounting principles
• Financial close processes and reconciliations
• Expense and asset accounting
• Experience working closely with controllers, accountants, and audit teams.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Workday Financial Management certification (preferred).
• Professional certifications such as CPA / CA / CMA are a plus.
