Job Description
- In this role, you will collaborate with a specific team within the organization to drive technical and product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution for one of the largest sites globally. Your focus will be on enhancing the user journey, which serves as the primary source of user content for the product. The goal is to streamline the process of creating and participating in conversations, making it more efficient and engaging for users while contributing to key product metrics across the ecosystem.
Your primary responsibility will involve transitioning legacy Python microservice code to one or more existing Go microservices. Successful candidates for this role will have prior experience in large-scale migrations, ensuring code instrumentation and monitoring for consistency and performance during the transition.
As part of your duties, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute product and business strategies, delivering innovative products and features tailored to user preferences. Your involvement will span the entire development cycle, including technical design, development, testing, analysis, and launch, with opportunities to review code, provide feedback on product specifications, and contribute to design documents.
Additionally, you will work alongside a team of dynamic and motivated engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your role will include setting standards to enhance developer workflows, sharing best practices, and mentoring team members to enhance their technical capabilities. You will actively engage in organizational processes such as planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to facilitate effective collaboration and feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to execute product and business strategies
- Contribute to the full development cycle, from design to launch
- Mentor team members and recommend best practices
- Continuously enhance technical and non-technical skills
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and data privacy regulations
- Design maintainable database schemas and data structures
- Identify and address technical issues and bottlenecks proactively
Essential Skills:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in Python and Golang, including large-scale migrations
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
