Role Description The EDC Field Specialist is a full-time on-site role based in Chandigarh, responsible for supporting the deployment and maintenance of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) devices for merchants. The role includes visiting merchant locations to install, configure, and test EDC terminals, ensuring they operate smoothly and comply with company standards. The specialist will diagnose and resolve technical issues, provide timely customer support, and escalate complex problems when necessary. Day-to-day tasks also involve educating merchants on effective device usage, transaction processes, and basic troubleshooting to enhance adoption and reduce downtime. The EDC Field Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams to provide feedback from the field, maintain accurate records of installations and service calls, and contribute to improving overall service quality.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to assess device performance, interpret transaction data, and identify patterns in technical or operational issues.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally with merchants, explain technical concepts clearly, and manage expectations on-site.
• Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose EDC device problems, perform basic repairs or configurations, and coordinate with technical teams for complex issues.
• Candidates should possess Training capabilities to onboard merchants, demonstrate EDC usage, and guide users on best practices to minimize errors and support adoption.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include prior field service or POS/EDC experience, familiarity with payment systems or FinTech products, ability to travel within the region, and proficiency in local languages and English.
• A diploma or degree in engineering, IT, electronics, or a related field is preferred, along with a valid means of field mobility (as required) and a strong focus on reliability and accountability.
