Job Description

The Delta One Structured Products team sits within the Institutional Equity Division and focuses on the structuring, pricing, trading and risk management of equity-linked solutions, typically referencing indices, ETFs and single stocks (including equity swaps and other Delta One instruments). The Mumbai-based GMG team provides dedicated trading assistant coverage, supporting the day-to-day running of the desk through execution support, bookings and amendments, and timely coordination across stakeholders and time zones.

The Global Markets Group (GMG) is Morgan Stanley’s offshore arm for Sales & Trading in India. GMG supports the IED platform by partnering with onshore teams across Sales, Trading, Structuring, Quantitative/Strats, Analytics, Operations and Risk Management. The group provides scalable coverage, process excellence and technical expertise, enabling global desks to focus on client-facing priorities while maintaining strong controls, governance and risk discipline.

Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, continuously evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Provide day-to-day trading assistant coverage to the Delta One Structured Products desk, partnering with onshore Trading desk and other key stakeholders across the region.
  • Support execution workflows: trade capture/booking, amendments and cancellations, and timely escalation of breaks and issues.
  • Support client enablement for swap trading, including account mapping and coordination of client-specific requirements with internal teams.
  • Perform position, P&L and risk checks; investigate drivers of daily moves and resolve/escalate issues in close coordination with Trading desk.
  • Manage trade lifecycle events for swaps, including resets, rebalance and roll.
  • Own corporate action and dividend processing, including chasing for client elections where required, and ensure timely desk/risk updates for paying events.
  • Conduct reconciliations across front office systems, downstream platforms and internal reports; identify, investigate and escalate outliers and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with external brokers, Operations, Product Control/Finance, Technology, Risk and Compliance to maintain strong controls, resolve operational issues and meet regulatory/internal requirements.
  • Drive process improvement and automation to reduce manual effort and improve controls.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Strong understanding of equity markets and Delta One products, and their trade lifecycle (resets, dividends, corporate actions and rolls).
  • Experience supporting front office trading workflows: booking accuracy, amendments/cancellations and break resolution.
  • Sound control mindset with high attention to detail and awareness of operational risk.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to coordinate effectively with Trading, Product Control, Operations, Technology, Risk and Compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under time pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in automation/scripting tools preferred.
