IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) combines corporate advisory with hands-on dispute
and asset management.
Job Overview
As of 2026, this role is critical for safeguarding the companys legal interests, ensuring
rigorous contract compliance, managing external litigation counsel, and protecting
intangible assets through IPR strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Lifecycle Management
Drafting & Vetting: Prepare and review diverse agreements, including Master Service
Agreements (MSAs), NDAs, Vendor/Procurement contracts, Licensing (IPR/Software),
and Lease agreements.
Negotiation: Lead negotiations with external partners to ensure favorable terms and
risk mitigation.
Compliance: Monitor active contracts to ensure all parties meet their obligations and
deadlines.
Template Management: Develop and update standardized contract templates to
streamline business operations.
2. Litigation Management
Strategy & Representation: Advise on dispute resolution strategies to minimize
company exposure and represent the organization in legal proceedings when
necessary.
External Counsel Liaison: Coordinate with external law firms, briefing them on cases
and monitoring their performance.
Legal Notices: Draft and respond to legal notices, business letters, and official
communications.
Recovery & Tribunals: Handle recovery suits and appear before High Courts, District
Courts, and specialized tribunals (e.g., Commercial Courts).
3. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

IP Enforcement: Handle litigation related to trademark infringement, passing off, and
copyright violations.
Due Diligence: Conduct IP audits and due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or
licensing transactions.
Advisory: Provide guidance on the best course of action for protecting new products or
creative content.
4. General Legal & Compliance
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to labor laws, municipal
regulations, and corporate law (e.g., Companies Act).
Internal Advisory: Act as a legal expert for internal departments (HR, Sales,
Operations) on legal implications of business decisions.
Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing legal research to stay updated on legislative
changes and identify potential risks
