Job Description
- Health and Safety:
- To ensure the protection of workers from occupational hazards.
- Experience on avoiding the risk of accidents, work related illness and injuries at work place.
- Must ensure compliance with all safety measure under Indian government rules and regulations and ADB envirenmental requirements.
- Should coordinate with AIDS control organisations and other public health agencies to carry out HIV/ AIDS awareness programmes. To conduct health and safety program for workers and include information on the risk of Covid - 19 and other diseases.
- To ensure Health, Safety and Welfare, sanitation and working conditions and appropriate working camp sites.
- To provide a safe work environment - Provision of food supply, Provision of clean drinking water, Protection from insects and pests.
- Risk Assessment & Management: Conduct site-specific risk assessments before starting work, identifying hazards such as water depth, current speed, submerged obstacles, and unstable riverbanks.
- Safety Plan Implementation: Develop and enforce safety plans, including the use of safety ribbon, proper access and designated walkways.
- PPE Management: Enforce the mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including life jackets or flotation devices, high-visibility clothing, safety helmets, and appropriate footwear.
- Emergency Response: Ensure a rapid rescue procedure is in place, including the availability of ring buoys, rescue lines, life jacket and rescue boats.
- Monitoring Conditions: Monitor weather and water conditions (e.g., flood risks) and stop work if conditions become unsafe.
- Training & Compliance: Provide safety training or tool box meeting to staff and contractors on water hazards and rescue techniques, ensuring compliance with local safety standards.

Must have skills
- Previous experience in river related construction works safety. Understanding of river hydrology, safe boat operation, and equipment maintenance and keeping proper documentation for client billing. Certifications: Diploma/Certificate in HSE Engineering
- Site-based role with frequent field inspections.
- May require travel across project locations within Asia.
- Ability to work in high-risk construction/industrial environments.
