Regional Commercial Head - Infrastructure/MEP Projects - EPC

About the Company:

Our client is a leading listed Indian company in air-conditioning and electro-mechanical projects. It executes large MEP and HVAC projects across metros, railways, infrastructure, commercial buildings and factories, with a pan-India portfolio of 400+ projects.

Open Positions:

1. West Region: Mumbai - commercial head for infrastructure projects (metro, railways and other infra). Business size about 700 Cr.

2. South Region: Hyderabad - commercial head for buildings and factory projects across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. About 130 projects, business size about 800 Cr.

Both roles report to the GM - Commercial and lead a regional commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the commercial health and profitability of all projects in the region against the annual business plan.
• Review contracts at the bid and pre-contract stage for commercial, tax and payment risks.
• Track project costs, catch overruns, scope changes and overspending early, and drive corrective action.
• Lead billing, collections and recovery of old outstandings and escalation claims.
• Manage working capital and reduce capital employed in projects.
• Oversee bank guarantees, LCs, vendor and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure compliance on taxation (GST and others), PF and labour laws, and contract terms.
• Drive timely project closures with clients and in SAP.
• Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors and central finance for book closures.
• Run regular reviews with branch and project teams, and build and develop the commercial team.

What We're Looking For:

• CA / ICWA / MBA Finance from a reputed institute.
• 14 - 20 years of experience, with at least 10 years in commercial roles in EPC or project-based businesses.
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle, with the ability to evaluate projects commercially, not just as a finance function.
• Hands-on experience with BGs, LCs, escalation claims, collections and labour compliance.
• Experience leading teams and working closely with project and business heads.
• SAP exposure preferred.
• Willingness to travel to branches and project sites.

Preferred Background:

• Candidates from EPC, infrastructure or MEP companies such as L&T, Tata Projects, KEC - International, Kalpataru Projects, Afcons, Shapoorji Pallonji, Voltas, Sterling & Wilson, Siemens, or similar organisations.
