Electrical Design Engineer

Position : Electrical Design Engineer

Job Location : Pune / Ahmedabad

Experience : 5 to 10 years

Qualification : B.E or B. Tech. (Electrical)/ Diploma- Electrical

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Building services engineering experience from a design consultancy environment or a contractor with design & built environment.
2. Sound knowledge of engineering calculations like Equipment & Switchgear sizing, Cable sizing, voltage drop, earthing calculation etc.
3. Experience on various Electrical calculation and services layout like:

• Lighting Calculation for Normal, Emergency using DIALux , Relux or equivalent software tools & Daylighting calculations.
• Earthing / Grounding Designing and Lightning Protection
• Electrical load calculations
• Panel Schedules, DB Schedules, Luminary Schedules etc

1. Knowledge of Lighting calculation Luminous Planner 7.5 software will be added advantage
2. Experience on ELV system Designs like FAPA, CCTV, Access Control, Data & telephone etc.
3. Understanding of ICT system & requirements
4. Understanding of Green/Solar PV / Sustainability requirements
5. Should be well versed with Various Codes & Standards like BS codes, NEC, CIBSE, UK Building Regulation Code, NBC.
6. Exposure in predesign manhour estimation and preparation of stagewise deliverables
7. Skills required on 2D & 3D drafting tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Naviswork Engineers with experience on Autodesk Revit MEP and Autodesk Navisworks.
8. Experience on modelling of electrical & ELV services using AutoCAD & Revit is a mandatory requirement.
9. Experience with Various Designing software like Amtech, ETAP, Electrical OM for power distribution design & electrical studies like load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, Harmonic analysis, Arc flash analysis, discrimination studies etc will be added advantage
10. Experience on Tender Specification and BOQ
11. Worked on diff. building sectors residential, commercial, institutional (schools, colleges), healthcare (hospitals), transportation (airports, bus stations, metro stations), data centres etc.
12. Good understanding of coordination between different MEPF services as well as Architectural & Structural design from engineering & spatial coordination point of view.
13. Experience in review and QA/QC of 3D models, Drawings etc.
14. Experience of working on Common data environments like BLUEBEAM, BIM 360, Drop Box, ProjectWise (collaborative tools to work on a model)
15. Should have skill to manage & prioritize while working on multiple tasks.
16. Should have ability to perform under time pressure and ready to adapt project requirement changes with a positive attitude
17. Should have good oral and written communication skills.
18. Should be self-motivated, proactive and good team player.

1. Study the project Specification & other technical documents.
2. Working on Multiple Projects along with timely delivery and quality.
3. Daily project task allocation & management.
4. Team Leadership
5. Tracking Team Training & Competency
6. Study the project Specification & other technical documents.
7. Prepare Effort Estimation & List of Deliverables to be produced.
8. Input data review & prepare RFIs for insufficient data etc.
9. Electrical & ELV Designing as per project scope
10. Designing of Electrical services and providing inputs to detailing /BIM team.
11. Coordination of Electrical services with all other trade services such as Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection etc.
12. Participate in Team meetings & Client meetings.
13. Review & QAQC of project Deliverables.
