Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- (70% Contract Drafting, 20% Legal Compliance, 10% (IPR work)
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Drafting, Review & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including NDAs, supply agreements, service agreements, consultancy contracts, licensing agreements, distribution agreements, procurement contracts, and technology/IT contracts.
- Identify legal risks in contracts and propose acceptable alternatives and riskmitigation strategies.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with business objectives, internal policies, and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (Sales, Procurement, R&D, HR, Operations, Finance) to understand requirements and finalize contract terms.
2. NonLitigation Corporate Legal Support
- Draft and respond to statutory and regulatory notices from authorities.
- Prepare, internal notes, and advisory documents on nonlitigation matters.
- Maintain documentation for regulatory and business audits.
3. Compliance & Governance
- Assist EHS team in providing necessary interpretation of law
- Support implementation and updating of contract templates, and internal guidelines.
- Maintain compliance calendars and ensure timely completion of statutory filings, renewals, and submissions.
4. Intellectual Property (NonLitigation Support)
- Support trademark filing, renewals, oppositions, and monitoring (if applicable to business needs).
- Conduct basic trademark searches and provide preliminary availability opinions.
- Maintain the IP database and track key deadlines and milestones.
5. Documentation, Records & Reporting
- Maintain organized databases for contracts, notices, approvals, legal correspondence, and compliance documents.
- Track contract renewals, expiries, and obligations, ensuring proactive actions.
- Generate periodic reports for the Board regarding contract status, disputes, compliance status, and legal priorities.

About Company
Neogen family has expanded to over 581 members as at the end of March 2023. The family comprises of technically qualified people with Ph. Ds. and bachelor’s in chemical engineering.
Apart from Bromination and Grignard chemistry, Neogen has also developed competencies in other related chemistries, such as, Alkylation, Acylation, Aminatin, Oxidation, Dehalogenation, Silylation, Halex reaction, Friedel Craft, Couplings and Chlorination.
Neogen functions out of its four state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. These are located at Mahape, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, Karakhadi in Vadodara, Dahej SEZ in Gujarat and Sangareddy, Hyderabad. Together, these occupy around 57 acres of land. The Company has acquired BULI Chemicals India Private Limited in the month of May 2023 which has its facility located at Hyderabad spread across 5 acres. With completion of Phase I and Phase II Expansions at Dahej SEZ, other brownfield expansions and recent acquisition of a facility at Hyderabad, the total organic chemicals manufacturing capacity of the Company increased from 1.30 m3to 4.63 m3 of Reactor Capacity and the aggregate manufacturing capacity of Inorganic Chemicals has increased from 2.40 m3 to 39 m3.
With the completion of our Greenfield facility at Dahej SEZ, Neogen can carry out multi-step synthesis in equipment of various sizes. Neogen is also focussing on Custom Synthesis and Manufacturing. Work has already commenced in this area with customers in Japan and Europe.
Further, Neogen has obtained the license from MU Ionic Solutions (MUIS) (a JV between Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) and UBE Corporation and is a group company of The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (the group) a Japanese conglomerate) for availing its proprietary and confidential manufacturing technology for making Neogen’s electrolyte solutions at its manufacturing facility in India with a planned max installed capacity of upto 30,000 MT per annum. These electrolytes will be targeted by Neogen to meet the growing demand of lithium-ion cell manufacturers in India.
