About The Job
Own the end-to-end people agenda for the factory workforce (BC, WC and CL) by translating factory business needs into HR actions across hire-to-retire, ensuring continuity of operations and workforce stability. The incumbent acts as the single accountable HR owner for on-ground people outcomes in partnership with the Factory HR Head, Factory leadership, and functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Workforce Planning, Staffing & Onboarding (Permanent Employees – BC/WC)
- Lead workforce planning, staffing, and onboarding governance for BC, apprentices, temps/FTCs, and WC.
- Ensure joining readiness through documentation, statutory compliance, medical checks, orientation, and IT readiness.
- Drive timely closure of vacancies by coordinating with hiring managers and shared service partners.
- Contract Labour Deployment & Shift Management
- Lead CL workforce planning in close collaboration with Supply Chain and Production Planning.
- Ensure timely requisitions and sufficient CL availability for production requirements.
- Manage daily deployment discipline, line allocation, and resolve shortages in real time with Operations, Production leaders, Factory Manager, and contractors to prevent production loss.
- Contract Labour Hiring, Onboarding & Compliance Readiness
- Own sourcing, selection, joining formalities, legal and medical checks, and uniform/PPE availability for CL.
- Ensure periodic mandatory trainings (NCBP, COBC, POSH, Safety, QA) are completed and tracked.
- Own end-to-end readiness of the contract workforce before deployment.
- Contractor Ecosystem & Principal Employer Compliance
- Govern adherence to applicable Labour Codes and Contract Labour statutes.
- Maintain statutory documentation, committee requirements, and drive audit readiness.
- Manage contractor registration, credential governance, and enforce obligations (wages, PF/ESIC/OT/LWF, working hours, compliance MIS).
- Manage SES, arrears/bonus settlements, and long-term settlement impact assessments in coordination with ER, Finance, and Legal.
- Factory People Processes, Culture & HR Operations
- Execute performance cycles: goal setting, mid-year check-ins, People Day / PDP closure.
- Manage probation confirmations and PIP actions.
- Drive capability building and mandatory training targets.
- Own engagement actions, employee listening, and grievance resolution.
- Ensure HRIS / position data hygiene and timely system actions for hiring, transfers, and exits through NBS interfaces.
- 2 years of relevant HR / HRBP / IR / CL management experience, preferably in a manufacturing / factory environment.
- Exposure to Labour Codes, Contract Labour compliance, and factory HR operations preferred.
