Job Title: Director of Engineering - Lending Platform
Location: Gurgaon
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the technology charter for our Lending Platform. This role requires a seasoned engineering leader with strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and distributed systems, and a proven track record of building scalable fintech products. You will lead multiple engineering teams to build and scale products across Unsecured Personal Loans, Business Loans, and Credit Card offerings, driving architectural decisions, innovation, and team excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end technology ownership for Mobikwik's Lending Platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Define and drive the engineering roadmap, aligning with business goals and lending strategy.
- Manage multiple teams of engineers, leads, and managers; foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Provide architectural direction for Java-based microservices and ensure adherence to best practices for code quality, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
- Collaborate with product, business, and data teams to deliver high-impact lending features and experiences.

- Drive platform modernization, reusability, and security across all lending products.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, promoting ownership and continuous learning.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption when relevant.
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture.
- Experience in cloud-native development (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and data streaming frameworks (Kafka or similar).
- Proficiency in RDBMS/NoSQL databases (MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB).
- Exposure to Fintech, Credit, or Lending platforms is highly preferred.

Leadership Skills:

- Proven experience leading large engineering teams (30+ engineers) including managers and senior developers.
- Strong stakeholder management with product, data science, and business functions.
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable engineering plans.
- Passion for building high-quality products at scale in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or related field from a reputed institute.
- 15-18 years of overall experience with at least 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Prior experience in a high-growth tech or fintech company is an added advantage.
