Key Responsibilities
Introduction on the role: We are looking for an Accounts Assistant/ Bookkeeper with a hands-on, can-do attitude to join the team and help deliver our exciting future. Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper role supports the Accounting department based in Melbourne, Australia by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, fielding communications with clients and vendors, responding to employee queries, fact checking and other duties, as needed.
Key Responsibilities include:
- at least 2 years experience with xero
- Respond to day-to-day finance queries in a timely manner
- Processing accounts payable and employee expense claims
- Manage suppliers in collaboration with Financial Controller
- Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards and source documents and ensuring compliance to company policy
- Monthly preparation of challans
- Processing month-end journals
- Assist the Finance Team to close out month end, year end and other statutory requirements
- Adhoc requests as directed and required
Competencies/Demonstrated Experience/Qualifications
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- High degree of accuracy and numerical literacy
- Highly competent PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

- High levels of attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
Knowledge and Tools
- Experience using Paybooks and Xero Accounting Software is an advantage
- Knowledge of HR practices and payroll regulations

The job will require early morning hours to provide some overlap with Australian working hours
