Head - Polymer Trading

HEAD (Polymer Trading)
Responsible for strategic sourcing, sales, and business development for polymers (PE, PP, PVC), focusing on driving revenue, managing market volatility, and building supplier/customer relationships. Optimizing supply chains, managing inventory, and achieving profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement sales and procurement strategies to increase market share, brand awareness and profitability.
Trading & Sourcing:
- Manage international sourcing, imports planning, and vendor relationship management for polymers.
Sales & Market Growth:
- Drive business growth, identify new market segments, and manage key customer accounts (plastic manufacturers/converters) and monitor progress against them.

- Analyze industry trends, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities
- Oversee regular market research
- Prepare and manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring cost control and optimal resource allocation.
- Identify and develop strategic profit center's for business growth.
Operations & Risk Management:
- Oversee inventory levels, logistics, and credit risk management.
Performance Tracking:
- Monitor market trends, competitor analysis, and set financial KPIs to ensure profitability.
Qualification And Experience:
1. BE with 10-15 years of experience polymer trading, distribution or sales and In-depth knowledge of PP, PE, PVC, and specialty polymers.
2. Strong negotiation, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and team leadership.
3. Proven track record in supplier sourcing, trading execution, and customer development
4. Experience in setting up or scaling a trading desk is highly desirable.
5. Strong understanding of polymer markets, grades, and applications.
6. Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
7. Market analysis and price-risk management capability.
8. Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build a business from scratch.
9. Strong relationship management and communication skills.
10. Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced trading environments.
